DEXON Wallet is a decentralized cryptocurrency wallet designed for both mobile and browser extension use. This case study showcases the comprehensive UX research and design process undertaken to enhance the wallet’s usability and security, ensuring an intuitive experience for users managing DXN assets and interacting with DEXON-powered DApps.

Competitive Analysis
We analyzed eight decentralized wallet competitors (BRD, Coinbase, Trust, ImToken, BitPie, Status, Token Pocket, and Jaxx) on iOS to evaluate their unique features and market positioning. This assessment helped identify key design opportunities and insights to enhance the development of DEXON Wallet.
User Journey Mapping
Adopting a user journey-focused approach, we systematically replicated key user tasks across various decentralized wallets, assessing them through the lens of usability and overall user experience.
User Interviews & Personas Development
We conducted interviews with 10 internal and 8 external crypto wallet users to uncover their key values and requirements for a cryptocurrency wallet. The findings revealed three core values that shape how users perceive cryptocurrencies, their motivations for using them, and their preferred usage patterns.

In designing the DEXON Wallet (decentralized wallet), Dexon Exchange (decentralized wallet) and Coblet (centralized wallet) ecosystem, we strategically define their roles and interactions within the cryptocurrency landscape, ensuring a seamless user journey across different levels of experience.
New users enter the ecosystem via Coblet, gaining exposure to cryptocurrencies in a safe, controlled manner.
Experienced users leverage DEXON Wallet for a non-custodial, decentralized experience, ensuring flexibility and security.
Traders and dApp users benefit from direct wallet-to-DEX integration, allowing seamless asset management and transactions.
